Who am I…and why do I love sweet things so much?
I live in Dallas, Texas, a veritable smorgasbord of sweet delicacies and delights.
My husband says that I don’t have a sweet tooth. He says all my teeth are sweet. I choose dessert over dinner, sweet over savory. You get the idea. Growing up, my dad was first and foremost a chef. However, there was a bit of pastry chef in him. He would always be in the kitchen making a cheesecake or cookies before he decided what to make for dinner. Dessert first, he always said to me. “What if you don’t live through dinner? Then you will have missed out on the best part of dinner, getting dessert.” This is where my love of all things sweet started. The nostalgia that comes with a delicious slice of lemon chiffon cake or a simple PB&J is better than any family photo album any day. Food makes me insanely happy, but my heart lies with dessert. There are a million food bloggers out there and professional food critics. I am not trying to be one of them, I just want to share my opinions and have a place to ramble on about my delicious adventures in candy land.
